FAMU alumni will remember the space as it was for decades the dance studio of Professor Beverly Barber. Located in a suite of student-athlete learning spaces, a lounge area and a computer room fresh with all new computers, the study lounge is able to accommodate tutoring sessions, both individual and group.
Associate Athletics Director for Facilities Kelvin Rosier and Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator Kendra Greene oversaw the project. The spaces are immediately accessible to student-athletes to enhance their educational experience.
“We are extremely proud to see this project come to fruition. This renovation will allow for a more conducive environment for our student-athletes to study. Whether in groups or individually with a tutor or advisor, the layout is a comfortable atmosphere to bolster academic success,” said FAMU Director of Athletics, John Eason.
While located in the Gaither Athletic Complex, the study space is accessible to the general student body of the university.
