This year’s theme “A Rebirth of Culture through Unity” was a catalyst for the connection of the thousands of Tallahassee residents, 50 vendors, and 17 performers including headliners Sunni Patterson and Cody ChesnuTT. “The Harambee experience was uplifting and inspiring. It was everything that I’d hoped it would be and may we continue to build on this, not just for the festival but as a life plan,” ChesnuTT stated after his rousing performance.
Keith Rodgers, founder and CEO of Black on Black Rhyme and Black Talk Poetry Troupe, hosted the festival. His sharp sense of humor kept the crowd of young and old entertained throughout the seven-hour event.
The FAMU Harambee Festival was a free event that gave the local community and surrounding areas a memorable experience of Tallahassee’s beauty, unity, and cultural vibrancy.
