The FAMU Rattler football team will take on USF at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, on Sept. 18, 2021. USF will pay FAMU a $450,000 guarantee for playing the game, according to a copy of the contract.
The Rattlers will take on the Miami Hurricanes at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, on Sept. 7, 2024 and then again two seasons later on Sept. 12, 2026. FAMU will receive guarantees of $700,000 for the 2024 contest and $740,000 for the 2026 contest, according to the contract.
The contract also states that FAMU will be paid an additional $40,000 if the Marching 100 band makes the trip to Miami Gardens.
FAMU and Miami first met on the gridiron in 1979 in Tallahassee. The Rattlers defeated the Hurricanes 16-13 in that contest, but Miami has reeled off 10 straight victories since then, each one in Miami. In their last matchup in 2016, Miami beat Florida A&M 70-3.
