The FAMU College of Law is making the switch to digital whiteboards, to replace their traditional chalkboards/whiteboards. The new digital boards are expected to provide a “collaborative space for faculty and students,” according to an article in National Jurist magazine.
The new boards allow content to be displayed and annotated using the touch of a finger. The content can then be saved, printed or emailed without using a computer. Students can log in to the whiteboards to copy presentations without taking notes or answer questions using a password.
The new whiteboards are also designed to support distance learning.
“This is an opportunity to transform the classroom into an interactive hub of academic learning,” FAMU Law Dean LeRoy Pernell told the magazine. “Greater access to technology can result in a more valuable college experience.”
