FAMU softball coach Veronica Wiggins will step away from coaching at the end of this softball season. Wiggins has lead the Lady Rattlers softball team since 1992.  She has coached the team to 771 wins, 13 MEAC championships and nine NCAA tournament appearances.

In 2017, she became the first HBCU softball coach to win 700 games. Her win total over her 29 years as coach places her among the Top 50 NCAA coaches.

After this season, Wiggins will walk away from the field. However, her impact on women's sports is not restricted to FAMU. Her contribution to the improvement of women's sports is for the world to enjoy.
