FAMU President Larry Robinson, on Saturday, signed a State of Emergency declaration in the wake of the coronavirus which empowers the university with another level of protections to address the COVID-19 pandemic.
Specifically, the action allows the FAMU Emergency Management Team and Incident Management Team to take any actions necessary to protect the public health, welfare and safety of the university community.
The university will remain open during for the time being, but has shifted instruction to online. There have been no reported cases of the coronavirus in Tallahassee/Leon County.
