With steady university leadership and a good economy, FAMU trustees believe now is the time to begin laying the ground work for the university’s first capital campaign in more than a quarter century.
“We are in a good place now in leadership, academic-wise and leader-wise,” Trustee Chair Kelvin Lawson said. “We are moving a lot of things in the right direction, so the timing couldn’t be better.”
Lawson urged FAMU VP for Advancement Shawnta Friday-Stroud, and her team, to start planting the seeds and bring back a plan. Tops among FAMU’s i identified areas of need are Student Scholarships, Student Success Initiatives, Athletics, and Arts and History.
