The FAMU College of Law achieved a 48.7 percent first-try passage rate on the February 2020 Florida Bar Examination. That was 3.2 points higher than the February 2019 score.  19 of FAMU's 39 test takers passed the exam.  The February score are down 23.5 points from six years ago, when posted a 72.2 passage rate.

The uptick in the score was a slight bright spot.  Usually, a smaller number of law students take the bar in the winter.  More take the exam in the summer, a few months after graduation and bar review.

Because of to the COVID-19 pandemic it is not yet clear if the June 2020 bar exam will be postponed or not.

Late last month, FAMU selected Deidré Keller, J.D., associate dean for Academic Affairs of the Ohio Northern University College of Law as the new dean of the FAMU College of Law. She starts work in July.
