The FAMU National Alumni Association (NAA) raised more than $500,000 as a part of its Founders’ Day weekend fundraising activities.

The response has been so positive that NAA President Col. Greg Clark said the campaign is being extended for the rest of October.

“Money is still coming in, so we are going to keep the birthday link up for the rest of the month,” Clark said.

On Oct. 3, FAMU celebrated its 133rd birthday, and the NAA held a virtual fundraiser and asked alumni to make a $133 donation to in honor of each year.  Money raised will to go to the Athletic Department, FAMU CARES, a program to meet a variety of student needs, and the NAA’s Save Our Students scholarship program, which provides financial aid to enable seniors to pay off outstanding fees so they could enroll and graduate.
