Wednesday, the Florida Board of Governors (FBOG), which oversees public universities in the state, ratified the FAMU Board of Trustees' decision to reappoint President Larry Robinson.
Robinson was named the 12th President of FAMU in 2017

Robinson's appointment has brought a sense of stability to the FAMU presidency.

Prior to this appointment, he served as the interim president of FAMU from September 2016 to November 2017 and from July 2012 to March 2014.

Robinson also serves as a distinguished professor and researcher in the FAMU School of the Environment.

FBOG’s current policy only allows for presidents in the state university system to receive one-year contract extensions.
