FAMU wrapped up its second annual 1887 Strikes day of giving yesterday.

And, preliminary indications show that, the 1887-minute long campaign, raised $349,169.87 from 2459 Rattlers and friends around the world to support students at FAMU. The university is still counting donations it received from its drive-by campaign, and through the mail, but so far the tally shows it has exceeded its fundraising goal by 64%, surpassed its donor goal by 959, and out raised last year’s total of $213,256.72.

This year, 25 projects and programs seeking between $2,500 and $50,000 received funding. All of FAMU’s 14 academic schools and colleges participated, in addition to: the FAMU Developmental Research School; University Housing; Athletics; Gospel Choir; FAMU Libraries; and the Student Body.

Gifts to these causes will go right to work impacting the lives of FAMU students and members of the larger FAMU community.

While this year's day of giving campaign is over, it is still not too late to give.  The financial needs of  many FAMU students, and programs remain.  Your generosity helps students whose families having been facing a hard time during this pandemic, and provides that extra support to help keep our programs cutting edge.
