Miami-Dade County has tapped a company founded by two recent FAMU accounting grads, Joshua Hay and Michael White, to manage its Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) for COVID-19 to help renters pay their rents by sending money directly to landlords.

Miami-Dade's $61 million rental assistance program addresses many of the criticism levied against other pandemic-era assistance payments, which directed money to lessees rather than property owners.   At times, landlords — many of whom aren’t flush with cash — were given the short end of the stick by having the funds go to tenants who after receiving the cash still didn't pay their rents.

The county turned to Indelible Solutions to help ensure that program funds are directed to where they are most needed.

Indelible Solutions, a consulting firm that has done work all across the country, will work with  Miami-Dade to validate each applicants eligibility and verify timely delivery of payments, among other things.
