In recent weeks, COVID-19 positivity rates and deaths across the country have declined.

After more than a year of being locked in our homes away from work, school, and loved ones and dealing with the twin pandemics of COVID-19 and the social unrest following the brutal death of George Floyd a New Day has come and we are beginning to return to some sense of normalcy.

Dr. Mark Butler, Associate Professor of Music and Director of the FAMU Concert Choir, penned this wonderful song, A New Day, that gives us hope for a brighter day.   His composition, masterfully performed by the Choir, reminds us to keep the faith, keep praying, that A New Day filled with hope, when the sun will, indeed, shine again is coming.

In a way, Butler’s song reminds us that God isn't bringing us through this pandemic to remain the same, that HE brought us through to be stronger, better, and to glow brighter!

As my pastor reminded me this morning if I never had a problem, I wouldn’t know that God could solve it. And I would not know what faith could do.  Butler's song gives us that faith and blessed assurance that a New Day is on the horizon.
