The FAMU School of Allied Health Sciences (SAHS) will host a three-week summer program to introduce high school students to careers in the health professions from June 14 to July 2.  The program is designed for rising 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students and will be completely online.

The virtual experience will be structured, supervised, and is designed to enhance students’ academic abilities and social skills and increasing their competitiveness for admission to a college health professions program.  Some of the key skills the program will work on developing are:

·       Advanced math, Chemistry and anatomy skills
·       College practice laboratory experience
·       Exposure to clinical and simulated health care laboratories
·       Mini-courses
·       CPR/AED two-year digital certification

The fee to attend the FAMU Health Careers Opportunity Program High School Summer Institute is $250 per person—which covers course materials, a backpack, and shirt—and students are encouraged to register by Friday, May 21 at 5 p.m.  by using this link.
