J-School grad wins Alabama broadcasters association award for best feature story

Brittany Collins
, a 2015 graduate of the FAMU School of Journalism and Graphic Communications, who currently works at Huntsville, AL, TV station WAAY, as a multi-media journalist recently had her work recognized by the Alabama Association of Broadcasters at their “2021 ABBY Awards” presentation as a best in broadcasting feature.  

Collins’ video and production work on a feature on Buffalo Soldiers garnered the attention of the committee.  The 2021 ABBY Awards recognized Alabama’s Best in Broadcasting for 2020.  

 ABA President Sharon Tinsley said, “2020 was unlike any other year, but it did not defeat local broadcasters were not only challenged by the pandemic, many put themselves in harm’s way to cover civil unrest and severe weather.”
