VP of Finance and Administration Alan Robertson resigns

, Ed.D, who has served as FAMU Chief Financial Officer and Vice President for Finance and Administration since January 1, 2020, has resigned effective July 31.

Upon his appointment, the university heralded Robertson as a leader with more than 30 years of senior and professional leadership experience who had served as the senior vice president and CFO of Morehouse College, but hadn't served in that position in over a year prior to joining FAMU.

Robertson, a CPA, earned a bachelor's degree in commerce from DePaul University; an MBA, with concentrations in finance, marketing and organizational behavior from Northwestern University; and a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Pennsylvania. 

Rebecca Brown, assistant vice president for Finance and Administration, has been named as interim CFO/VP for Finance and Administration. Mostly recently she was in charge of Business & Auxiliary Services and provides oversight of Dining, Bookstore, Rattler Card, Business Center, Snack Vending, Drink Vending, Laundry and Commercial Solicitation.  She was responsible for more than 150 staff and contracted personnel and a consolidated operating budget of about $33 million.
