HCA-Florida seeks to invest $1.5 million in School of Allied Health

The FAMU Board of Trustees will consider a proposal from the Hospital Corporation of American – Florida to name the Sim Lab with in the School of Allied Health Sciences the HCA Florida Healthcare Simulation Laboratory.  HCA Florida will make a $1 million donation to the School of Allied Health, payable over 4 years, for the naming rights to the lab.

If approved, HCA will also make an additional $500k investment in the school, over 4 years, to support scholarships and internships.

In July 2021, HCA North Florida opened a new $5.5 million simulation laboratory in partnership with the University of Central Florida to train nurses.  HCA North Florida Division operates the Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee.
