The FAMU Rattler football team completely dominated the UAPB Lions on both sides of the ball yesterday and left Pine Bluff, AK with at 37-7 win. The Rattlers improved to 8-2 overall, 6-1 in the SWAC.
QB Rasean McKay threw for 383 yards, 5 touchdowns , and zero interceptions. The Rattler offense had amassed 346 yards in the first half alone, and 570 totals yards in the game, while holding the Golden Lions to only 176 yard total offense.
"Rasean had a phenomenal game with five touchdown passes. The defense did what they've done all year. Great individual performances from BJ Bohler with two picks and Isaiah Land had three sacks to add to his nation-leading total and held another team to 100-yard rushing,” said Coach Willie Simmons.
"It was a great team win, and we feel good about ourselves, but we have to come back to work tomorrow as we have the biggest game of the season for many reasons this upcoming weekend versus Bethune-Cookman."
The Rattlers return to action this Saturday against Bethune Cookman University in the Florida Classic in Orlando.
