Rattlers defeat AAMU Bulldogs 65-60

The FAMU Rattler basketball team defeated the Alabama A&M Bulldogs 65-6- yesterday in Normal, AL, to pick-up their sixth straight win. 
 
The Rattlers (8-11, 6-2 SWAC) built up a 13-5 lead over the Bulldogs (4-14, 3-5 SWAC)
 during the first six minutes of the game. The Bulldogs would respond with a 20-11 rally to take the lead, 25-24 with 6:12 showing on the clock.  FAMU responded by scoring 6 of 11 to tie the game to 30-30 heading into the break.
 
 The Rattlers came out of the locker room hot to start the second half with a 30-15 run that included eight points each from Johnny Brown and MJ Randolph to take the lead to 60-45 with 3:31 left on the clock.
 
Over the next three minutes the Bulldogs would have a 12-2 burst to close the gap and trail 62-57 with 38 seconds remaining. From there both teams would score three points each and the Rattlers would keep their advantage to close out the 65-60 victory.
 
Randolph lead FAMU with 16 points, four rebounds and two assists with Brown following with 14 points and two assists. DJ Jones added 13 points and two rebounds while Kamron Reaves finished with eight points, seven boards and six assists to round out the top performers.
 
FAMU now travels to Montgomery, AL, to take on the Hornets of Alabama State on Monday night.
