The FAMU baseball team will open its conference play this week when they travel to Montgomery, AL, to play the Hornets of Alabama State this afternoon. The three game series starts today and continues on Saturday and Sunday.
The Rattlers (6-11 on the season) have lost eight of their last nine games and are currently riding a four-game losing streak. FAMU is 10th in the league in hitting at .219 and is currently seventh in pitching with a 7.90 earned run average.
The Hornets (8-9 on the season) are third in the conference in hitting this season at .276, trailing only Grambling State (.296) and Texas Southern (.312).
