Rattlers blown out by Hornets 16-0 in SWAC opener

The FAMU baseball team dropped their SWAC opener to Alabama State 16-0, yesterday, in Montgomery. The loss was the Rattlers' worse conference loss in 16 years.
 
The Rattlers fell behind early, allowing six runs to help the Hornets to a 5-0 lead in the first inning, and added 5 runs both (a total of 10) the fourth and fifth innings to put the game away.
 
Ty Hanchey and Grant Rowell combined for the Rattlers total hits (3). This is the fourth game this season the Rattlers have been held to three or fewer total hits. 
 
The Hornets pounded out 18 hits in seven innings to the Rattlers 3.  The two teams are back in action again today at 1pm.
