The FAMU baseball team (8-3 SWAC/14-18 overall) extended its SWAC win streak to eight games Friday and Saturday taking two games from in state rival Bethune-Cookman (7-4 SWAC/13-17 overall) 5-0 and 5-2, respectively. The wins have moved the Rattlers into 2nd place in the SWAC East, just a half-game ahead of the Wildcats.
The Rattlers will go for the sweep this this afternoon at 1 pm when the two teams close out the three game series.
Rattlers sweep J-State in softball
The Rattlers swept their three-game home stand against Jackson State, Friday and Saturday, besting the Tigers 9-3, 6-5, and 4-3.
The wins lift the Rattlers to 13-23 overall, 8-7 SWAC.
FAMU is tied for third place in the East Division with JSU, percentage points behind Alabama State and one game behind leader Bethune-Cookman.
The Rattlers have won their last four conference games.
