After coming off a 3-25  season, their worst in 20 years, the FAMU women’s basketball program has taken advantage of the transfer portal in an effort to seek immediate improvement.

The Lady Rattlers recently announced the signing of three transfers, Skylar Baltezegar, Mide Oriyomi, and Ahriaha Grizzle .

Baltezegar joins the Rattlers from Charleston Southern University, where she averaged 7.2 points per game and 5.8 rebound per game in her freshman season and was named Big South Freshman of the Week twice.

Oriyomi played last season at Purdue, after transferring from Northeastern, where she averaged 11.6 points per game also pulled down 7.7 rebounds per game. During her stop at Northeastern, she was named to the All-CAA Third Team.

Grizzle comes to FAMU after spending the last three seasons at the University of Alabama.

In their first season in the SWAC, and their first full season under Coach Shalon Pillow, the Lady Rattlers finished 10th place in the 12 team league.

  2. I agree. 3rd team CAA, really?
Our coach is totally lost, and to think the former AD gave her a 2-year contract extension during the pandemic. Geeeesh!
