Shortly after being thrust in to the interim AD role for the third time in April, AD Michael Smith quickly announced the postponement of the popular “Strike Tour” coaches fundraising tour, which last year raised over a half million dollars.
The 2022 tour kicked off in late June in Jacksonville raising close to $25,000, but since then there have been no details on future tour dates.
Last year’s tour had stops in Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Tampa, Washington, DC, Polk County, Tallahassee, Orlando, and other cities. The Atlanta leg of last year’s tour raised $74,225. Has FAMU Athletics and Mr. Smith abandoned this popular tour?
Is it cost efficient to FAMU Athletics to have these tours? It must be pretty expensive to run a chartered bus and officials up and down the road. Unlike our previous AD, Mike Smith is financial savvy who understands gains & losses, checks & balances & accountability.
ReplyDeleteSurely, it didn't cost a half a million to send 3-4 people to visit!
