FAMU nursing students sitting for the National Council Licensure Examination for the first time, this year, saw improvement in their test scores on the March exam with a pass rate of 64.71%. For the June exam FAMU’s score improved to an 83.33% pass rate.
This scores were up overall from a pass rate of 62 percent in 2021.
So far this year, FAMU’s pass rate average is 74.29%, 11.71% below the national average. The Florida Board of Nursing requires programs to meet the national average first-time pass rate of about 86 percent.
This year, eight nursing programs in the State University System of Florida experienced a decline in its annual scores. According to a report, nearly a third of Florida nursing school graduates flunked the licensing exam.
