The FAMU Rattler softball team defeated the Mercer Bears 5-1, yesterday, in the Heart of Georgia Classic in Macon, Ga. Mercer jumped out to an early 1 nothing lead, but the Rattlers came back in the top of the fourth to tie the game with an RBI into left field.
The Rattlers then expanded the lead after picking up four runs in the sixth inning following multiple infield hits to take the game 5-1.
FAMU closed out the tournament winning 2 games out of 3. After Saturday's games were rained out, the Rattlers dropped a morning game to the Hampton Pirates 8-1, before bouncing back against Mercer to close out the day.
