The FAMU baseball team defeated the University of North Florida Ospreys 12-6, yesterday afternoon, at home. The win helped the Rattlers improve to 3-6 on the season.
The Rattlers used 15 hits against one error to seal the victory. Senior pitcher Amir Asghar went five innings, giving up three runs, all of them earned, on six hits, allowing one walk and striking out two. Sophomore pitcher Caleb Granger came in going two shutout innings while allowing one hit, walking one and striking out three.
Senior Ty Hanchey put together an outstanding showing at the plate hitting two home runs and also three RBIs, going 3-5 at the plate.
The Rattlers travel to Auburn, Alabama today to take on the Auburn Tigers.
