The Florida Board of Governors , this week, will release its annual results on how each of Florida’s 12 public universities did on its performance-based funding metrics. According to FBOG meeting documents, FAMU ‘s final score for 2023 is 78 points, an improvement of 6 points over last year. This year’s score is yet 4 points below its high of 82 points in 2021 and 5 points below the system average of 83 points.
FBOG implemented its performance-based funding model in 2014, universities are given scores between one and ten on ten different metrics, including job placement, graduation rates, and academic progress.
FAMU can expect to receive a total of $29,381,478 in performance funding for the 2023-24 school year --- $13.4 million of the university's base budget (which was held in reserve) plus $15,943,438 its share of the state’s $350m "investment".
