The FAMU School of Architecture & Engineering Technology (SAET) is putting the finishing touches on its a new Digital Fabrication and Printing Lab.  The lab will allow students to create architectural designs and models using computer aided design (CAD) software, 3D printing, and other advanced manufacturing techniques.

Digital fabrication has emerged as a transformative force in the field of architecture, revolutionizing design, and construction processes.  SAET continues to stay on the cutting edge of the profession by providing its students access to the latest and greatest digital fabrication and 3D printing technologies.

Architects and engineers in the field are increasingly turning to these new tools to bring their visions to life with greater precision, efficiency, and sustainability.

The lab will include a range of computer-controlled manufacturing processes and 3D printing that will allow the layer-by-layer construction of physical objects from digital models.

“This new lab will give our students a competitive advantage in the marketplace to become the dynamic and environmentally friendly professionals we know they can be," said Dean Andrew Chin.  "This lab will provide them with the advanced skillsets to usher in a new era of architectural innovation.”
