FAMU women secures SWAC Tournament berth with victory over Bethune-Cookman

In a thrilling showdown on Saturday, the FAMU women's basketball team clinched a spot in the SWAC Tournament Championship with a hard-fought 69-65 win against the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats.  With the win, the Rattlers are headed to their first SWAC Tournament as the 7-seed.
 
The Rattlers' victory was anchored by a stellar defensive performance that stymied the Wildcats' shooting efforts, holding them to a mere 28.6 percent from the field, including a paltr
y 20 percent from beyond the arc.  
 
Leading the charge for the Rattlers was Ahriahna Grizzle, whose remarkable performance included 23 points, five assists, and three steals.  Additionally, Olivia Delancy delivered a standout performance with 14 points and a commanding nine rebounds, while also contributing two steals. Sydney Hendrix provided a significant spark off the bench, adding 13 points to the Rattlers' tally.
 
On the men’s side of the ball, the Rattler men’s basketball team's season ended with a 67-66 OT loss to Bethune yesterday.
