How many more Larry Robinson fumbles can FAMU survive?

FAMU entered 2024 on a high note, basking in the glow of its recent accomplishments. Breaking into the top 100 ranking of public universities in America, a significant jump to 3rd place overall among Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), maintaining its position as the No. 1 public HBCU for the fifth consecutive year, and clinching its first Celebration Bowl victory on national television were all cause for celebration. 

Despite the anticipation for a year of continued success, 2024 has been marred by a string of unforced errors by the university's top administrators, casting a shadow over its achievements and leaving stakeholders questioning the direction of the institution. Many of these blunders have been attributed solely to the leadership, or lack thereof, of President Larry Robinson.

 
While the university has made significant strides in academic excellence and athletic achievement, the mismanagement at the administrative level threatens to upend its hard-earned reputation.
 
The latest blunder, allowing a grifter to walk off the street, give a commencement address, and receive a presidential award, has drawn sharp and withering rebuke of the university, not seen since the days of the Robert Champion incident. Students and alumni alike are left deeply disturbed about the implications of these chronic missteps on the university's reputation and future. 

Many of the university's public relations blunders, such as selecting an Athletic Director who was absent from top 10 finalist, and the prolonged controversial football coaches search, have come from the man paid to be its guiding hand. The question students, alumni, parents and stakeholders alike have to be asking now is: How many more blunders by President Robinson can FAMU survive?
