The FAMU Marching 100 emerged victorious in the ESPN 2024 Band of the Year competition, Friday night, securing the prestigious William P. Foster BOTY trophy. The Marching 100, renowned for its rich history and unparalleled musical prowess, bested the defending champion, the North Carolina A&T State University Blue & Gold Marching Machine, in the Division 1 category.
The competition, held at Atlanta's Mercedes Benz Dome stadium, showcased the finest marching bands from across the nation. Both FAMU and NC A&T delivered electrifying performances that captivated the audience and left a lasting impression on the judges. However, it was FAMU's exceptional blend of precision, creativity, and sheer energy that ultimately clinched the victory.

The win marks a yet another milestone for the Marching 100, adding another prestigious accolade to the storied history of the only HBCU band to be award the John Phillip Sousa Foundation's Sudler Trophy (1985). The Sudler Trophy is widely regarded as the Heisman Trophy of marching bands.
