FAMU football will enjoy heightened visibility during the 2025 season, with six of its games slated for national television broadcasts across the HBCU Go Network and ESPN platforms.

The Rattlers’ schedule includes three matchups on HBCU Go, the premier platform for Historically Black College and University sports. Key conference battles will air on the network, beginning with a September 24 showdown against Alabama State in Tallahassee. FAMU will also host North Carolina Central on October 11 and close its HBCU Go slate with a November 8 road game at Arkansas-Pine Bluff (UAPB).

Meanwhile, FAMU’s national profile will expand further with three appearances on ESPN networks, headlined by the season opener. The Rattlers will kick off their campaign on August 30 against Howard University in this year's highly anticipated Orange Blossom Classic in Miami Gardens, FL, on ESPNU. A September 6 match up against Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL, will be broadcast on ESPN+ and the storied November 22 Florida Classic rivalry against Bethune-Cookman in Orlando will also air on ESPN platforms, with the specific channel to be announced later.

“This lineup reflects our program’s growing momentum,” said FAMU Head Coach James Colzie III . “Partnering with HBCU Go ensures our community sees these pivotal conference games, while ESPN’s reach amplifies our brand to a national audience.”

The dual broadcast strategy balances FAMU’s commitment to HBCU-focused platforms with broader exposure. The HBCU Go games spotlight critical SWAC matchups, while ESPN’s coverage includes the Florida Classic—a decades-old tradition averaging over 50,000 fans annually.

“Our players embrace the spotlight," Colzie said. "These broadcasts let recruits and supporters nationwide witness FAMU’s excellence on and off the field.”

With season tickets now on sale, Rattler fans are poised for a landmark year as the team builds on its recent success as a top tier HBCU football team and one of the elite FCS squads.
