FAMU and Tallahassee Police Departments moved quickly yesterday to arrest five men following a campus argument which lead to five shoots being fired near the FAMU Student Union Building. The shots were fired around 1:37 pm and no one was injured in the incident.
Three of the five arrested at students, one from FAMU, one from Tallahassee Community College, and one from Bethune Cookman University. The other two men were no students. All ranged in age from 20-22 years old, and face charges ranging from possession of a firearm on school grounds, possession of a weapon with an altered serial number, aiding and abetting and possession of stolen firearms.
FAMU police were able to detain the men and cordon off the area within minutes of the shots being fired.
Too bad the FAMU PD didn't just blow these thugs away. They are worthless, a menace to society, and should be eliminated. Hopefully they will get at least 20 years in prison and get physically assaulted while in there. What happened to the good old days when we took no prisoners?
ReplyDeleteSAY NO TO THUGS!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is bad publicity for FAMU why in the hell is kids trying to be thugs in college? I myself am a student, and was in class at B.L. Perry when this happend. I was shocked to hear that someone would yet again try to be thugs at FAMU. I don't think there's a such thing as thugs or gangstas in college, so students need to stop imulating one. Unless your reformed and found God, there's no need for this foolishness. It makes me wonder what qualified these students for FAMU to just let them even past the door. I am ashamed at the type of people we have just let come to our campus. I'm a grad-student at that and i've notice the drop in the quality of students that we are admitting. I remember when i first came here and students were more involved in academics. Now, you step on campus and it's like a scene out of one of Tyler Perrys Madea, or Meet the Browns movies. This is a shame.
ReplyDeleteNot to let fact get in the way of people's ranting, but the involved were not FAMU students with the exception of one person
ReplyDeleteIn addition to 4L18's comment about the men not being FAMU students (with the exception of one), we must acknowledge the fact that a university is a public place, a microcosm of the larger society, and in this regard all kinds of people venture into public places. It just happened, this time, to be at our university. A public institution of higher learning is certainly not immune to the violence that we encounter every day of our lives. It's a shame, however, that this incident occurred at our beloved university, and although I am greatly saddened that the young men behaved so horrendously, I can't say that I am surprised that this happened. Saddened, not surprised. I simply hope that it not an indicator of things to come.
ReplyDeletecorrection on my above post: I meant to parallel 4:54's comment, NOT 4:18's.
ReplyDeleteWhy do six young men in their twenties have four guns among them?
ReplyDeleteNo matter what the NRA says, the problem is gun laws in America. Too many guns on the streets. It's like the Wild, Wild West all over again.
4:18, if you are a FAMU grad student, why are your writing skills so poor? Basic subject-verb ("why...is kids..."), usage (your instead of you're),punctuation, spelling, etc. At this point, you should know better. If I had a red pen, your post would be bleeding.
ReplyDeleteThe main job rap against Black students is that they can't write well. You need to check yourself and get some tutoring. White folks won't tell you they will fire you for 'inadequate communications skills' due to poor writing even if you are getting the job done otherwise.

11:56 Ignorance is the key for why black people can never stay on topic.
ReplyDeleteShame on you....
I pray your not affiliated with FAMU. We can't afford individuals with short attention spans.
