Faux News, the tool of the right wing, purposely distorted the speech of Rev. Jeremiah Wright and vilified him as an out of touch hateful person. Nothing could be further from the truth. Wright, a graduate of of Howard University, where he earned b.s. and masters degrees in English, also holds a masters from the University of Chicago, and a doctorate from the United Theological Seminary.

Wright who studied under Sam Proctor at Virginia Union University is widely regarded as one of the greatest biblical scholars of today.

As Rattlers, we ought to have the whole story.

  2. Not only "as Rattlers, we should have the whole story," as people, in general, we should have "the whole story."

  3. I understand Wright's anger but I think the way he expressed it will only cause racial divide. Guess who will be more hurt by this? I am interested in making progress, not just pointing the finger at what is wrong with society. Do we really need Wright to tell us that this country is run by rich, White people? Anybody consider this news? The question is what are we going to do about it? How about taking advantage of whatever opportunities we have? How about, to the extent we can, creating more opportunities for Blacks?

  4. Wright is a damn fool. Our community should stop putting so much worth to him and his ilk.

Just because somebody speaks at a church doesn't mean they have some sort of superiority over the congregation. Sometimes you can't just get all your info from your church.

  6. I, for one, take all of this very personally. It's nothing but an indictment of the Black Church. Black Churches have been speaking truth to power for a long time & should continue to do so.
Rev. Wright didn't say anything that wasn't true. It was just taken out of context by Faux News (I love this moniker) for political gain.
Now Hillary's on TV saying that Rev. Wright "would not have been my pastor".
    Really?
Is that why Bill personally invited Rev. Wright to come and pray for him during the Monica Lewinsky(sp) affair?
But then again, he also invited Jesse Jackson. Turned out he had an OUTSIDE KID on his wife. I wonder what they were talking about during the prayer session...

  7. The Clinton's will do anything to win.

Wright is not a bad peron or anything just misguided. He should only be leading a congregation of one.

  8. Wright is as racist as any Klan member.

    He is a disgrace.

Did you know he's buying a new mansion in a gated golfing community in Chicago?

Guess he wants to better connect with the White experience by living with them then calling them responsible for AIDS. He is a Black spy in the White community...then he reports back the truth about hateful whitey.
