In a "press release" sent via email Roy Eavins, III, conceded that his athletic broadcast deal was "the most expensive of the three proposals" considered by FAMU athletics. "We were one of 3 proposals that were submitted and while we were the most expensive ($5000.00 more than the next) we believed that our package was the best and most comprehensive," Eavins wrote.

"We offered to remove the cost of our services to FAMU but still provide all of them due to the fact that the budget cuts mandated by the state had made it very hard on the entire school including athletics. We were and are confident in the fact that we a capable of generating revenue from out broadcast for FAMU & JBN," he said.

BCSN has been broadcasting HBCU sports online for the past 10 years and is the longest running FREE broadcast of HBCU athletics in the country.

Eavins issued the release on August 22, to clear up "numerous rumors regarding the canceling of our broadcast contract with FAMU."

  2. Mr. Eavins- How can your package be "the best and most comprehensive" when you have to rely on FAMU for equipment, bandwidth, etc.? Advertiser aren't buying into your "internet only" broadcast because your audience is too small, and you have no real infrastructure. That said, how will you be able to pay Coach Taylor to do the show?
