North Carolina Central University scored 10 unanswered points in the final six minutes, including the game-winning 20-yard field goal by freshman Nigel Macauley, as the Eagles rallied for a 27-24 victory over Florida A&M University on Saturday at Bragg Memorial Stadium in Tallahassee, Fla.

FAMU (0-6, 0-3 in MEAC) had four possessions in the fourth quarter, but didn’t register a first down after punting three times and then losing a fumble on the game’s final play.

The loss gave FAMU its first-ever 0-6 start in the history of the football program.

Saturday’s victory for the Eagles was NCCU’s (2-3, 1-1 in MEAC) first win over FAMU since beating Rattlers 9-3 on Sept. 15, 1973 in Atlanta, Ga. It was also NCCU's first win over FAMU in Tallahassee. FAMU won the two prior meetings. FAMU still leads the series 6-2-1 since the teams’ first meeting in 1939.

FAMU QB Carson Royal went 29 of 47 for 331 yards and two (2) TDs with one interception. Montavious Williams had nine catches for 147 yards. Brandon Norwood had nine grabs for 57 yards and one TD. DB John Boston had seven tackles to lead the Rattlers.
