We understand that College Engineering Sciences, Technology, and Agriculture (CESTA), Interim Dean Charles Magee has resigned. It seems that Mr. Magee who had been serving as interim dean since being appointed to the position by former president Fred Gainous wanted to be paid a deans salary to which the current administration refused him.
He will be replaced by Samuel Donald of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, who will hold the title of Interim Dean.
Request: Could RN please continue to post the agendas/meeting notices for FAMU BOT conference calls? The information is not easy to find on TDO or www.famu.edu.
ReplyDeleteIsn't this guy connected to Bobby Fields? I hope he doesn't bring lawsuits like Fields, if that is the case.
ReplyDeleteLooks like CESTA is next on the firing block.
ReplyDeleteTCW will probably start the firings in the next 2 weeks when certain faculty members get abbreviated contracts for 6 months and A&P folks as well.
My bet is College of Ed and Nursing are next on the firing lines.
Does anyone know if Joe Johnson (physics) is still pushing to bust up the College of Arts and Science and CESTA and make a new College called the College of Science and Technology with Ralph Turner as the new dean?
ReplyDeleteAnyone with info on this, please post.
Thanks in advance.
You have got to be kidding. No way is Dr. Bryant of Dr. Austin comtemplating changing any college or school, especially without the input and concensus of the faculty and academic leadership. I don't believe it.
ReplyDeleteMemo was sent out in the fall announcing a restructuring of CESTA, ESI and CAS into two three new schools - College of Agriculture, School of Science and Technology, and College of Arts and Social Science.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Bobby & Charles were heard not to get along at all.
The new interim dean and Bobby Phils are good friends.
ReplyDeleteThe problem in CESTA is that they removed BRP but left his entire regime in place, Lock, stock and barrel. They then forced Dr. Magee to work with what he had. Then the dean search committee (Regime run) disobeyed Dr. Gainous directions and tried to force Dr. Magee's name forth for the deanship. But of course he got shot down. Then sad to say, in many opinions, Dr. Magee went over to the "dark side".
ReplyDeleteMany in CESTA will be glad to send all of the brooms, mops and RID "X" needed for a complete cleaning of the "CESSPOOL"-- Oops, I mean CESTA.
