On Thursday, April 18, 2019, FAMU advocates from around the state will come together for FAMU Day at the Capitol.

FAMU Day is an annual recognition of the university’s accomplishments and contributions to the state of Florida. It is also a day for students, administrators, and alumni to meet with legislators and personally thank them for their support of FAMU and to advocate on behalf of the university’s 2019-2020 legislative agenda.

The FAMU National Alumni Association, a sponsor of the annual day of advocacy for FAMU, is encouraging all alumni, students, faculty, administration, friends, and supporters to participate. FAMUans and friends are encouraged to display their Rattler pride by wearing orange and green.

Participants in FAMU Day will make office visits to their State Representatives, Senators, and the Governor.  The day will culminate with a 6 p.m. reception for alumni and legislators on the 22nd floor of the Capitol.

Rattlers who aren’t able to travel to the State Capitol and Tallahassee on April 18, can still take part in a “virtual FAMU Day” on that day by tweeting, emailing, calling, or contacting their legislators or legislative leaders on Facebook and other social media and asking them to support FAMU’s 2019 budget request.
