ReplyDeleteGotta get on the soapbox for a moment. I don't expect anyone to listen:
ReplyDeleteFAMU ought to give out the dates of major games with the annual Academic Calendar.
Teachers can't expect much academic work from students those weekends.
School spirit is good. But this is a student body that is greatly in need of the spirit of working hard to learn.
Where are the learning rallies? Where are the academic classics? Where are the decked-out, shouting celebrations of real achievement on campus?
All right, all right, guess I'm just one of those gumpy old teachers who want students to succeed in life and not just learn how to go to sporting events mislabeled "classics."
