FAMU proposals for Centers of Excellence fall way short
In August FAMU submitted four proposals to the SUS in an effort to compete for a pool of $30 million in additional state funding for Centers of Excellence. None were among the 19 reviewed by the techonology board.
One of the ideas FAMU offered was a center for plasma science and technology, carbon-based nano-tubes to deliver medicines to targeted parts of the body and addressing health disparities in minority population.
It's all about politicking. This mootley crew is clueless. Instead of unleashing our faculty and letting them be creative, Keith Jackson excluded them and went to ole tied Joe Johnson (CePAST).
ReplyDeletePharmacy should have been in on the ground level and pushing the paper as well as the soon to be (FSU) College of Engineering. There is plenty of biomedical research going on out there that could have connected FAM through collaborations with Scripps.
Keith Jackson is an ego maniac and a fraud!!!!
ReplyDeleteFAMU's internal politics fell short.
