Off Topic: Obama takes Mississippi

As expected Barack Obama cruised to a victory last night in Mississippi. is being held today and latest Rasmussen Poll shows Barack Obama with a comfortable 60 to 38 percent lead.

Pundits call the victory a very hollow one because at 37 percent of its total, Mississippi has the nation's highest concentration of Black residents. Due to the racial gerrymandering of its congressional districts, and, the enormous disparity in voting patterns ("Obama leads 80% to 12% among African-American voters while Clinton holds a 47% advantage among White voters"), the Obama campaign will probably split the state's 33 delegates by 17 to 16. On the outside, the delegate split would be 18-15 but that would be very surprising.

Yesterday's primary was the final contest before the nominating fight heads to Pennsylvania for a six-week showdown.
