Gabrielle McMahan, a FAMU student, will be a contestant on the Jeopardy! College Championship this evening. McMahon, a 21-year-old business administration major from Springfield, Va., was the only student from a historically black college of university selected to compete in the championship.

“It was a wonderful experience,” said McMahon. I was very honored to represent FAMU in such a prestigious competition.”

Some of the other participating universities included the University of Minnesota; Yale University; Georgetown University; Marquette University; Michigan State University; Harvard University; and Tufts University.

Each contestant is set to compete for the $100,000 prize in the annual Jeopardy! College Championship. Contestants will play once during the first five shows. The five winners, as well as the next four highest money-earners, will move on to the semi-finals the following week.

  1. We should also remember FAMU alumna Natalie Tindall, who competed on Jeopardy as an undergrad in 1999 or 2000. Another sign we are back to our glory days!

  2. According to the Jeopardy Database of College Champions , Tindall competed in 2000.

  3. 10:40--we have a whole lot of other stuff to do than having a student appear on Jeorpardy! for us to be able to say that we are "back to our glory days." Singular game show appearances don't make "glory days."
