I completely support the school going after those students who haven't paid their tickets, but to do so the day before Thanksgiving seems... Something about the timing just doesn't sit well. If you know they have tickets, put a block on their spring registration or put the boot on earlier, not the day before many students hit the road.
The Wednesday before Thanksgiving most classes were cancelled anyway. Most offenders were probably already gone. These culprits knew they had outstanding bills!!!!
I think it's fine because we'll pay for gas, food, parties, and whatever we what the day before any holiday! If FAMU had their check.......I bet they'll get that money.
Actually shoulda booted their @sses the Wednesday before the Florida Classic!
If we'd only have the stones to go after all these/you deadbeat MF's who still owe the School money for even more serious shtuff than this ... We'd probbaly cut our Deficit in half by New Year's!
Make sure those tickets they have are valid first. I had and have issues with the parking services. They had to remove hundreds of dollars of tickets off my car cause they was duplicates or not suppose to be assigned to my car in the first place.. Or when you do pay they never put it to your account. So they need to get their house in order...
No I wish I was... I give them credit one employee over there caught it and called me about it cause I wasn't sure was going on. She told me she researched my tickets and found some was duplicates and other was not supposed to be assigned to my car at all. For example what ticket had my car being a Tan color GM model car, mine is a black mercury so obviously that not my car. So I give them credit for catching their mistake or at least one employee for taking the time to make sure I wasn't being charged more than I should.
In the real world, guess what?? Parking Management (aka the Meter Maids) does not care when it is. If you are parking illegally, and it's Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, Hanukkah Eve, or Ramadan Eve, guess what is gonna happen?
Everybody who goes to or works at a college is grown (whether it's official, or in their own minds). Act like a grown up! Park legally, count your blessings you weren't caught or be prepared to suffer the consequences. You make the pick.
Sorry to hear about the gaffe. Glad someone was looking out.
2:44, who cares about "the timing" not sitting well? Boots are not placed on cars until the owner has well over three-four unpaid tickets -- providing they are caught. Many times students park in the handful of spaces reserved for faculty -- spaces that have been paid dearly for, I might add, by a faculty member. Sometimes these reserve spaces cost as much as $550 per year. I know. I' one of those fac members who has the $$ deducted every two weeks. When I pay that kind of $$ for a parking space, I fully expect it to be empty when I arrive on campus to teach and conduct other university-related business. I don't care two flips about what season it is.
Good!!! Pay your parking fees or else.
