Corey L. Alston, the city manager of South Bay City, Fla., was booked on grand theft charges in Palm Beach County on Monday, Dec. 17. He turned himself in to the county jail and was released after posting a $3,500 bond.

According to the Palm Beach Post, Alston “is accused of persuading three South Bay commissioners to pay him $25,000 for 498 hours of unused vacation that prosecutors say he knew he didn’t deserve...His attorney John Howe said it is likely Alston will enter a not guilty plea in the next several weeks. He faces a maximum five years in prison if convicted.”

Alston, 35, is in the second year of his term as chairman of the FAMU Foundation Board of Directors. He is also a former member of the FAMU Board of Trustees.

  1. Wtf...who let this nut deal with FAMUS endowment? Now I know without a doubt there's no more money left. I wonder why Rattlernation have not went into an in dept look at FAMUS endowment. It seems like this has been swept under the carpet in recent years
