According to the Palm Beach Post, Alston “is accused of
persuading three South Bay commissioners to pay him $25,000 for 498 hours of
unused vacation that prosecutors say he knew he didn’t deserve...His attorney John Howe said it is likely Alston will enter a not
guilty plea in the next several weeks. He faces a maximum five years in prison
if convicted.”
Alston, 35, is in the second year of his term as chairman of
the FAMU Foundation Board of Directors. He is also a former member of the FAMU
Board of Trustees.
