FAMU officials have suspended the student organization for
three years. Young Rattler women who wish to become Deltas will have to wait
until June 30, 2016.
Back in February, FAMU placed the Delta chapter on inactive
status after receiving a report about an alleged, off-campus hazing incident
within the group. The accusations were submitted through FAMU’s anti-hazing
website.
FAMU still executed non-criminal disciplinary action against
an undisclosed number of members of Deltas by suspending them from school.
The FAMU chapter of Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service
Sorority, which was also on inactive status for a number of months, is now
also on official suspension. It will remain off-the-yard until June 30, 2014.
