Perfectly awful: winless at home for 2013
Rattlers let another one slip away in final home game of 2013.

Despite jumping out to a 21-3 lead with 11:09 left in the second quarter, the Rattlers (3-8, 2-5 MEAC) managed to do the unthinkable by allowing 26 unanswered points to lose to Delaware State (5-5, 5-2 MEAC), 29-21, on Saturday afternoon.

The come-from-behind Hornet victory, in front of an announced crowd of 7,026, brought back memories of the 2011 homecoming heartbreak during which another Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference rival, Howard, won by scoring all of its points during the fourth quarter.

Carson Royal was 18 of 24 for 277 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions and FAMU actually outgained Delaware State 379-346.

The Hornets snapped their four-game losing streak to the Rattlers and picked up their first victory at Bragg Stadium since 2007.

FAMU’s previous home losses this season came at the hands of Tennessee State, Samford, Howard, and North Carolina A&T.
