More than $900,000 in scholarships from Florida Agricultural
and Mechanical University (FAMU) were offered to students during a Jacksonville
recruiting event on Jan. 12.
Nearly 600 students attended the event at Jean Ribault
Senior High School, which included a highly entertaining and enlightening song
and dance presentation provided by the university student group FAMU
Connection.
In addition to scholarship notifications, a second highlight
of the program was an opportunity for interested students and parents to learn
more about the outstanding programs available at FAMU. Admissions counselors
and representatives from the university’s 14 colleges and schools were on hand
to provide information and answer questions from prospective students.
