The Rattler women, who had been plagued by sub .400 field
goal shooting all season, shot 51.7 percent (28 of 49) from the floor, while
limiting the homestanding Bears (2-19, 0-8 MEAC) to a dismal 16.1 percent
shooting (9 of 56), including a dreadful 12 percent (3 of 25) in the first
half, as FAMU outpaced their hosts, 35-7 in the first two quarters.
FAMU held Morgan to single digit scoring in the first three
quarters (three in the first; four in the second; five in the third), before
the Bears managed 14 points in the final stanza.
Florida A&M (6-15, 4-4 MEAC) moved into the middle of
the pack in the league standings at the halfway point of the 16-game conference
schedule with Monday’s win, and the timing couldn’t be better as the Rattler
Women have four of their next six MEAC games at home beginning Saturday.
