We can never do enough to thank the regular readers of
Rattler Nation. 2017 was a great year in terms of total site visits.
Three news stories stood out far above all the others in
popularity. Our readers really helped to generate much of the interest in these
posts by sharing the links across Twitter, Facebook, and other social media.
Here's the list:
Some
naysayers didn’t think that FAMU could grow its
enrollment and get quality students at the same time. But FAMU did just that in
Fall 2017. The average GPA for the current freshman class is 3.39. Their
average score on the SAT was also better than most their other fellow high school students
in the state of Florida and in the entire country.
“Girls Trip,” a film by Will Packer Productions, debuted
with a national release on July 21, 2017. It starred
Regina Hall, Tiffany
Haddish, Jada Pinkett Smith, and
Queen Latifah as a group of friends who
reunite years after they originally met as students at FAMU.
Readers loved seeing the screen capture of the four actresses
posing as participants in a FAMU commencement ceremony.
As popular as the two other stories on this list were, they didn't come close to number of hits this one received. The post got a big boost
when then Atlanta Mayor-elect
Keisha Lance Bottoms retweeted a Rattler Nation
reader who shared the story link with her.
